Chapter 2.2 - MaryAshley's Super Green Smoothie

Makes 1 10 oz. cup

  • 1 overripe banana
  • 2 kale leaves
  • 1 cup blueberries (or mixed berries with blueberries)
  • 1 tbsp ground flaxseed
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups oat milk
  • 1/2 cup water (if you need to thin the consistency)
Throw everything in a Vitamix (or any other blender) and blend on high and voila!
Best post-workout, no workout, I want to sip on this for an hour smoothie in my book. This makes enough for three regular people or just one if you are me! You can substitute the kale for spinach if you want a milder green flavor or you can also cut it down to one kale leaf instead of two. Oat milk has a ton of calcium, turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory, and flaxseed is great for blood pressure and fights cancer cells.
